FAQs

What will camp cost me for my children to attend?

Zero! Nothing! Nada! Zilch! This is a work of the burden of the heart of the people of Antioch Baptist Church. As such the people have given sacrificially throughout the year so that we can open our doors to every child who desires to come. We believe that every child is made in the likeness and image of God, and as such deserves the opportunity to hear the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Alan Kirk- 770-362-6258

What should my child wear to camp?

Excellent question. While there will be no “dress code” for the campers, we push honoring church time with our “best”. We would ask that for the girls there be no “spaghetti strap” tops, no mini-skirts, and nothing that reveals any undergarments regardless of gender. Also, for the girls it’s strongly recommended that they wear a one piece swimsuit rather than any type of bikini.

Where will my child sleep?

Sleep? Are you kidding me? We are at camp!  No, seriously, we encourage rest! We have a lights out time each night. There is dorms with bunkbeds for boys as well as for girls. The dorms are separate as well as the bathhouses.

What should I send with my child to camp?

Maybe we should cover what not to send, then what to send. Please no guns, bombs, bazookas, tranquilizer guns, no fighter jets, destroyer ships, no drugs, alcohol or the such. Nothing that requires ID to purchase or an NFA tax stamp to own.

On a serious note the things your child will need is

  1. Sleeping Bag or Twin XL covers
  2. Pillow
  3. Towels
  4. Bathcloths
  5. Personal hygiene items
  6. Medications (if applicable)
  7. Modest play clothes
  8. Swim clothes (one piece for the girls is recommended)

What if my child takes medications?

We have been having camp since 2014. There has never been a year that campers haven’t had medications that they had to take daily. We have a Registered Nurse onsite who will collect all medications except rescue emergency medicines such as epi pens, or rescue inhalers. The medications must be in their original container as per the laws of the State of Georgia, and will be dispensed out to your child according to the dosage instructions printed on the bottles. If your child has over-the-counter medications that they take daily, please include detailed written instructions as to how you would like the medication administered. We do have Tylenol and Advil type medications available, and if your child needs them you will be called for permission to give them.
